We’ve sourced renowned genetics in building our quality foundation stock, seeking champion & show quality suri males and females with luster, fineness, and handle; lock structure, density, coverage, conformation and temperament. Though not a large farm, we are proud to offer one of the most outstanding selections of herdsires available. Our 4 breeding males have earned over 35 championships and 58 blue ribbons combined. We look forward to growing our stud row of discriminately chosen sires to continue improving the next generation of our program. We breed for genetic diversity and to improve the pure suri market without preference for country of origin and we breed for all colors. We seek excellence in true suri phenotype, and never compromise our breeding decisions in our desire to produce the finest alpacas in our program. We believe in providing more than a promise of after the sale support; we strive to provide the best herdsire selections, financing options, marketing incentives and breeding advice up front to assure the success of our customers and our industry. Searching to start a business while both working, something we could enjoy together, watch grow, and someday semi-retire to - we found it much to our surprise in alpacas! It has become a joy and a passion. There is nothing as captivating as the shimmering luster and beautifully flowing locks of our suris running in the pasture. It is impossible, no matter how hurried and busy your day, not to feel serene when you gaze at the herd calmly grazing - and just stop…and live in the moment. And it is impossible not to feel your heart leap for joy in the evening as your alpacas pronk in the twilight, a seemingly joyous ode to the day. We feel blessed to care for and raise these gentle creatures, and fulfillment when our alpacas come running to greet us as we walk into the barn. We are so pleased for the endless ways alpacas have provided a wonderful return on our investment and become an integral part of our lives.
At our historic 1910 farmhouse in Barrington, IL, our gorgeous suris are a remarkable sight on a classical farm setting, and it pleases us greatly when the enchantment of it all makes people wish to take a moment out of their lives to share with us and our beloved alpacas. Andean Vista Ranch is owned by Gail & Paul Wasserstein, breeders of quality suri alpacas in IL. Our breeding program is built on renowned proven genetics in our award-winning dams & multi-champion herdsires. We breed without preference for country of origin or color, but to improve the pure suri breeding stock of tomorrow.
