Merry Hill Farm is located in southern Montgomery county, south of Amsterdam off Exit 27 of the NYS thruway, and just a few miles north of I-88. We have lived in this rural area for several years, and discovered alpacas as a way to enhance both our lifestyle and the value of our property.
We are full-time, hands on breeders of Huacaya alpacas. Our focus is on fiber and conformation, while paying close attention to health and temperament. We offer alpaca sales, breeding and boarding to both new and established breeders. Other services include safe alpaca transport, advice on barn and pasture layout, shearing and hand processing of fiber. Visitors are always wecome at the farm. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment. Our hand crafted products are available at local events throughout the year, and we have also joined other local vendors at a retail store on Main Street (Rt. 30A) in Fultonville, NY, off Exit 28 of the NYS Thruway. We have hand knit alpaca hats and scarves, alpaca yarn and fiber, socks, gloves and a variety of other hand made articles.
The store is open Tuesday through Saturday, and Linda is available every Friday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (or later by appointment) for spinning and knitting advice. Call us for details and check out the store web site for special weekend fiber workshops. Recent events included spinning and carding demonstrations, how to dye yarn with Koolaid and knitting workshops. Details on events, store hours and vendor profiles at www.OldeMainStreetShoppes.com.
