As a small farm we are able to interact with each alpaca individually. Careful attention is given to health, nutrition, and training. Our pastures are visible from our windows, so we able to observe their behavior not only when we are with them, but also when they are just among themselves!

Since the summer of 2007 Sycamore Creek Farm has offered Alpaca and Nature Day Camps. Our Fiber Cottage is used by our day-campers for classes in spinning, weaving and nature studies.
We welcome visitors to our farm. Please come by and talk "Paca" with us. We will take you among the alpacas and let you experience them. If you are not sure whether you are ready to venture into the world of alpacas, we will spend time helping you make that important decision

Catherine is a fiber artist. She spins the fiber from our animals into yarn which she uses in a variety of ways. She knits, weaves and felts. While much of our fiber is processed by Catherine, some is sent to a mill where it is spun into beautiful yarn. Catherine has a degree in Clothing and Textiles from Eastern Illinois University.
Richard and Catherine have attended many seminars and workshops, keeping up with the world of alpacas.

Breeder Biography

With Catherine's introduction to alpacas at the 2003 Small Farm Show in Columbia, MO, she fell in love with their beauty and the peaceful life style described by their caretakers. It didn't take long for her to convince Richard and Isaac that alpaca breeding would be a wonderful life style change for the family ... Richard and Catherine, are so pleased that they became Alpaca Breeders. They have put together a beautiful 6.5 acre farm, where truly home is where the heart is.
