These animals represent a precious opportunity as the research has shown Suri alpacas have unique fiber characteristics making their fleece one of softest, most versitile and warmest of fibers. Suri fleece feels like silk, is hypoallergenic, and the only fiber warmer is polar bear fur.
There are many ways to get in the business. You don't have to buy breeding stock;geldings have good fleece too. We are not trying to be a super farm. Currently, we are promoting our excellent herdsires for stud or sale. They all have solid pedigrees. SBS Ringo Star and SBS Foxworthy, son of Sweet Foxfire Jax, are both available for limited breedings.
Foxworthy has produced his first offspring, VASR Amadeus. Check this boy out! He is a handsome brown with tight lock structure and fleece galore.
We have one new stud ready to breed. SBS Dracula is a beautiful black with great conformation and out Sgt Major Jax. Our herdsires come with guarentees of live births.

| | Breeder Biography
Valle Alto Suri Ranch is a family affair run by Bob & Becky Schlaegel. We became interested in alpacas at a Pet Expo at the Ohio Fairgrounds in 2002. After much research and visits to farms, we decided to concentrate on breeding Suri alpacas.
We belong to several alpaca organizations. Our goal is to increase our knowledge in raising and breeding for a quality fleece. We are also committed to passing this knowledge along to other alpaca owners, so the industry will continue to grow.
