 XC Alpacas is located in Galt, California, just South of Sacramento, and is owned by Xavier and Cheryl Ordez. We learned about alpacas as a business from Xavier's co-worker, Karen. After many conversations, and a lot of research, we decided that the alpaca lifestyle was just perfect for us!
We purchased our first alpacas in 2004, and in 2005, we brought our alpacas home to our new ranch! In just a few years our ranch has grown by leaps and bounds! We have both Suri and Huacaya alpacas in a pallette of colors to choose from.
In 2006, we joined partnership with Randy and Barbara Coleman, of Wings & A Prayer Alpacas, in the purchase of the fabulous Herdsire WP Hot Topic No. 7 - a FULL PERUVIAN, 1/2 ACCOYO, dark-brown, Suri Alpaca. He is currently located at our ranch and is ready to breed your females!
We started our ranch specializing in Suri Alpacas, but in 2007, we decided to expand our offerings to our customers by adding a fine Huacaya line of herdsires to our breeding program: the FULL ACCOYO, Vengador’s Accoyo Augustus, and the multi-award winning, FULL PERUVIAN, LKR Knockout, a Grand Moreno son - co-owned with Bill & Rosalee Stearns of Great Spirit Song Alpacas. Both of these gentlemen have just begun to produce some fantastic crias!
2009 is sure to be an exciting year with the addition of "CHIMAYO", a FULL PERUVIAN, 1/2 ACCOYO SURI Herdsire! His Sire is PPeruvian URIBE and his Dam is a Peruvian FUEGO daughter! Need we say more??
Our goal at XC Alpacas is to breed a superb line of Suri and Huacaya alpacas, with sound confirmation and exceptional fiber characteristics. All breedings come with a LIVE cria guarantee.
