Since the day of it's conception, the goal at Georgian Oaks Farm is to breed a herd of elite suri alpacas. Suri alpacas with perfect conformation and bite. Alpacas with outstanding fleece, lock, and glowing luster. Beautiful suri type, presence and heads. This is not acheived overnight but a continuous journey. Established in 2004, Georgian Oaks Farm is a small farm located in North Georgia. We are 20 min. NW of downtown Atlanta, 45 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Intl. Airport and 15 min. from I-75. We like to refer to ourselves as modern urban farmers. Our 5 acres is in the historic McKeachern Farm district near Kennesaw Battle Field. Our house was built in 1916 and with its wrap around porches, and big oak trees, is a picture of the old South. We did very intense in depth research for three years into the alpaca industry, husbandry, bloodlines, and end products before purchasing our first animals. We chose to raise Suri alpacas because of their being rare and having much better tolerance of the heat here in the South. Our herd was started not by looking at country of origin or color, but by judging each alpaca for it's individual traits. Our first animals were hand selected from one of the best Suri farm in the Nation. Our foundation dams were chosen for their conformation and good bone. Each had a history of easy births, milk production and excellent mothering skills. Most importantly each had the proven ability to produce a cria much better than themselves. |

We love alpacas for their many fiber colors and unique patterns. With that in mind, the target market for our fiber is the hand spinner and fiber artist. The creative person who demands excellent fiber and appreciates the many colors this wonderful, gentile creature produces. One of a kind creations that can be made from patterned fleece. A person who actually touches and uses the fiber to hand craft beautiful things. Georgian Oaks Farm has finally purchased our first stud, RFSS Peruvian Hershey. We have 1/2 interest shared with Ridgeview Farm Southern Suris. Hershey was chosen for his ability to consistently put conformation, presence, excellent bone and high luster on all his cria, regardless of dam. We are anxiously awaiting our next generation of cria! Come see us! Sit on the porch with a glass of sweet tea. Watch the alpacas and feel your stress melt away. Find out what the alpaca lifestyle is all about. We love to talk about alpacas and share our knowledge and research with others. Give us a call! |
