At Alpacas of Alagaesia, it is our goal to have a small herd consisting of alpacas with elite fiber qualities, natural colors, strong conformation and health in addition to a "typey" look that you just want to hug! We want to stay small enough to be able to offer the best care to our animals and offer our best service to our clients. We believe in using the finest bloodlines to achieve our goals. Our foundation herd includes legendary and ribbon winning alpacas like Hemingway, Augusto, Chaccu, Snowmass Snow King, MacIntosh, SA Karrington, Zorro, and many others. We feel using well known bloodlines in a program helps by making the qualities more predictable and it also increases their value by making them more marketable. A big advantage to an alpaca from our farm is that our alpacas are handled every day. I strongly believe in touching every one of them every day and talking to them using their names. Having a manageable herd is extremely important. It sure makes monthly shot time a lot easier on us and the alpacas. Our alpacas are part of our family and our family all contributes to their care. |

North central Indiana is where we make our home. South of South Bend (home of Notre Dame, YEAH!), and north of Lakeville, our farm is located conveniently on US 31. We welcome visitors any time. Feel free to call and set up an appointment! We are currently at the South Bend Farmers Market until next spring on Tuesdays and Thursdays-Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. Our store at our farm will be opening again for the winter on 9-27-2009 as we celebrate national Alpaca Farm Day 2009! We will then be open at the farm on Wednesdays and Sundays 12-3 and also by appointment until March 2010. |
