BrushWalker Alpacas

After twenty-something years in the United States Navy traveling the world, we decided it was time to plant some roots, build a family business and enjoy the next phase of our life. After researching a number of options we decided raising alpacas would provide the lifestyle we were looking for and in 2005 we purchased our first alpacas. From the beginning we have been committed to raising a small, high quality herd of animals.

Our goals are simple at BrushWalker Alpacas – have some fun, help the American alpaca business grow and help others understand what a great business this is for the right person! We know alpacas are not for everyone so we make sure we share all aspects of the business to help those exploring the alpaca world understand what raising alpacas entails so they can make informed decisions - not pressured ones. To realize our goals, we believe building long-term relationships built on trust and respect earned by being honest and up-front in all we do – whether you are asking questions or buying a herd.

The quality of our alpacas is of prime importance to us. We look for those animals with solid builds and outstanding fiber. Our focus is to produce generation after generation of animals superior to the last through careful selection of our AmericasPremier® Herdsires; only the highest quality third generation “American” alpacas who have been progeny tested or from progeny tested sires, and females with the phenotypic traits to produce outstanding cria and consistent fiber. We also take into account all the characteristics of their fleece and confirmation presence they exhibit such as bite, bone density, size and movement. We understand the importance of deciding how best to invest your breeding dollars and are proud to have bloodlines from some of the top Herdsires in America: Hemingway, PPPervian El Moustachio, Peruvian Accoyo Capitan, Peruvian Matador, El Bello, MFI Peruvian Glacial Storm.
