Mariposa Farm became a reality in April 2006. Overarching goals are to improve fleece quality through breeding, to provide quality animals and fiber for purchase, and to provide exceptional customer service.
By 2008 I was able to list my first animal for sale, Mariposa's Birch Ulysses.
Because I live in the city, I chose to board my alpacas and visit them often. Doing so provides exceptional mentors and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Currently my alpacas are boarded at Big River Alpacas in Dittmer, Missouri.
Additionally, I work full time as a research scientist and recently completed a Master's in Project Management. While building my 'inventory', I've been putting my schooling and work experience to practical use by brokering alpacas for others and researching the feasibility of providing blood testing services to other alpaca owners.
