 After retirement we moved from the Twin Cities to Sauk Centre, MN on Big Sauk lake where Richard had grown up.
That is when we decided to invest in something I had
longed for in years, Alpacas! Our main goal is to
raise quality animals, focusing on fiber and
conformation.
Our Alpaca adventure started the summer of 2004, we had to build a barn and also do fencing. By fall we were ready for our first four females. How exciting it was to get those girls!!! Our Alpacas may be a little spoiled or pampered, but we believe strongly in the golden rule...do unto others (& animals) as you'd like done unto you. We do all of the daily hands on care and chores ourselves in order to detect any potential problems early.
Proud to be small breeders, we do not raise alpacas in a factory type manner. They are referred to here at our ranch, by name not tag numbers. Our Alpacas are spoiled. But then again, that's one of the perks about being a small ranch! We actually have time to handle each of our Alpacas, interact with them, examine & enjoy them daily...one on one.
