About BACKYARD ALPACAS of Wisconsin

This farm is dedicated to the loving memory of my wife Sandy. She fell in love with Alpacas with the viewing of her first AOBA television commercial. I must admit it took me a while longer but soon we were stopping any time we saw an alpaca anywhere. We discussed the idea of getting just two pets but I was afraid of not having sufficient time to properly care for them with the long hours required by my occupation. It took my forced early retirement for medical reasons to give me the time I thought I needed to get started. Then with the help of my retirement funds Sandy and I jumped in with both feet. We started talking deals with farms during July of 07, the same month of my first knee replacement. By the time I got some fencing up and our first trailer of alpacas home it was the first of December. One week latter Sandy decided her little cria missed her playmate so another purchase was made. This now left us with two females not owned by us on our farm due to nursing crias. Of course Sandy fell in love with both of these girls and they were purchased. Thank God for farm credit plans. Our herd grew more with the purchase of several male suris that I couldn't live without. Our first on farm birthed cria was expected on July 3rd 08 and of course didn't arrive on time. SANDY passed away quietly in her sleep on July 4th. Her long awaited cria arrived ,with her help from above, during a thunderstorm, in the front yard under the shade tree on July 6th. SANDY'S DREAM GIRL is healthy and doing well and will remain on our farm as a tribute to my wife as long as the farm is mine. This farm was her idea and it is continuing to grow with the guidance of our LORD and watchful eye from above of Sandy as they direct my mind and hands to constantly endeavor to improve the quality and size of our herd.
