 HUGE RETIREMENT SALE!! After 16 years in the alpaca business, and raising our two daughters with these wonderful animals, Doug and I are looking at pursuing other interests. We are offering our entire herd for sale at unbelievable prices for exceptional quality. OUR LOSS IS YOUR GAIN! We will retain two of our herdsires to fulfill any breeding committments, and as always, will be available for consultation and advice. We value our customers and friends we have made throughout the years and will continue to nurture those relationships.
Our prices, listed way below their market value, do not reflect the quality of our animals. They are priced to sell, but we will also accept "offers". Doug and I will continue to offer the superb customer support and service that we feel is so important in this business. We are located in the beautiful Uncompahgre Valley south of Montrose, Colorado, which is home to the Black Canyon National Park, and some of the best hunting and fishing, and outdoor recreation in Colorado.
We were first introduced to alpacas in 1991, and attended our first AOBA Conference in Estes Park, Colorado in 1992. In 1993, we brought our first two alpacas home, Martin and Chiquita, and Marquita Ranch Alpacas was born. Today our 37 acre ranch is home for over 60 alpacas in a wide array of colors, and an impressive variety of genetics.
Although our numbers do not attest to the fact, we still consider ourselves "small breeders". Doug and I are the herd managers, and we take pride in knowing the names of all our animals, their individual behavioural quirks, as well as their genetic origins. Our daughters, Jenny and Amanda, who were 5 and 3 years old when we first started the business and who played an active role, are now grown up and attending college, and Doug and I are looking at pursuing other dreams. |

We have been breeding quality alpacas for reasonable prices for over 15 years. Doug and I are the owners, the herd managers, the pooper scoopers, and the marketing personnel. Our superior customer service extends well beyond the sale of the animal, with friendly, honest, support and advice.
