AlpacaNation:  How long have you been in the alpaca business?

Long's Peak Alpacas:  In Nov. of 2007 I will be celebrating my 11th year with these wonderful animals. In many ways it is difficult to remember a time when they were not a part of my life. I am are looking forward to many, many more years.

AlpacaNation:  What sets your farm and herd apart from others in the industry?

Long's Peak Alpacas:  As a small breeder, it is difficult to set yourself apart form so many outstanding farms. My apacas receive outstanding health and emotional care. After a sale I continue to help and advise the new owners. These relationships have many times developed into close friendships.

The care taken in our breeding program has provided our clients with quality alpacas.

AlpacaNation:  How did you become interested in alpacas?

Long's Peak Alpacas:  Our children were grown, the horse was gone and we looked at an empty, lonely looking pasture. One evening our local PBS station aired "The Treasure of the Andes". We were briefly introduced to alpacas. Sometime later we visited two alpaca shows and FEEL IN LOVE!! That was in June of 1996, our first animals arrived in Nov. of 96.

AlpacaNation:  How did you decide on your farm name? Is there a special meaning behind the name?

Long's Peak Alpacas:  We were very fortunate to have a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains form our home. Long's Peak is a significant part of it. It seemed only natural that we become "Long's Peak Alpacas".

AlpacaNation:  If you could change one aspect of the Alpaca industry what would it be? Why?

Long's Peak Alpacas:  I fall in love with each and every alpaca. It would be a wonderful world if we could keep each one of them. Selling them is a very difficult part of the industry for me.
