AlpacaNation: Tell us about yourself...
Craigieburn Farm Alpacas: Susan and I were looking for something to do after we completed 25+ years in teaching and corporate work. Susan was a teacher and Steve worked for Frito-Lay in product development.
We both wanted something to do that had to do with animals and involved a outdoor rurual setting. Alpacas was the perfect fit.
AlpacaNation: How long have you been in the alpaca business?
Craigieburn Farm Alpacas: We started aquiring alpacas in 2002 and have had an active alpaca farm since 2005.
AlpacaNation: How did you decide on your farm name? Is there a special meaning behind the name?
Craigieburn Farm Alpacas: Craigieburn is Scottish for rocky wood. Susan's relatives immigrated to Canda in the late 1800's and establish a farm by that name near Toronto. We thought the name was very appropriate for our farm amid New England stone walls and forests.
