AlpacaNation: How did you decide on your farm name? Is there a special meaning behind the name?
Smiling Eyes Ranch: I decided on Smiling Eyes, because that is what comes to my mind when I look into
an alpacas eyes. They are so easy to please and keep happy, they just appear to be smiling, and they make me smile.
AlpacaNation: What advice would you give to those just getting started in the industry?
Smiling Eyes Ranch: I would say don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you want !!
I have no problem talking to new and potential owners, and answering as many
questions as you might have.
The only stupid question, is the one not asked!
AlpacaNation: How did you become interested in alpacas?
Smiling Eyes Ranch: I first saw an alpaca in a magazine ad. I searched for a alpaca farm in my state
and went to visit. As soon as I saw one I knew that I was hooked! I purchased my foundation herd and I believe that I will have alpacas for a long, long time to come !!

AlpacaNation: What sets your farm and herd apart from others in the industry?
Smiling Eyes Ranch: I am sure that all alpaca breeders will say the same thing...
We would all like to breed the best alpaca we can. My ranch is small and I make
a point of spending time with my animals everyday, and giving them all individual attention.
