Cria with shriveled/cracked upper lip area

Hi -
I have a two month old cria who has a shriveled/cracked looking area around her upper lip/nose area. Not scabby - or bleeding - or even sore looking..just looks "cracked" and dries out.

Anyone ever see this before? She nurses and eats a lot of hay - no grain interest yet - is gaining weight and active..

Two of our younger boys have the what sounds a lot like what you are describing. I think that it is fungal in nature. I have use Miconazole on it with great success. ( vet suggested this) It can spread to their chin, it can also reoccur so treat ASAP when you see it.
I will smear their lip once a week as a preventative. Good Luck
