We are bottle feeding two crias with Nurse All at this time. Recently it has become very hard to find on the shelves. I have sent for it but it is very expensive. Has anyone used Uni Milk? I hate to change formulas in the middle of bottle feeding them but I this point I will have to do something soon. One cria is 5 months old and soon ready to wean. The other is only 3 weeks old and was a hard starter and will need the bottle for another few months.

I used Sav-a-Caf Ultra 24 milk replacer for quite a while on the advice of my vet, but also whole cow's milk with a dollop of whole milk yogurt added. The cria thrived on both. The Ultra 24 is widely available in my area at least, and Tractor Supply carries it.

Rick and Jill,
Just curious.... what does the dollop of yogurt do? I just finished bottle-feeding a cria on whole milk with Vitamin D in it. He is now a very strong and healthy 5-month old. I never added yogurt to it, but should I have???

I have been using a product called, Advance, Multi-Species milk replacer. It is for Foals, Llamas, Alpacas, Kids, Calves, Piglets, Dogs, Cats, Puppies, & Kittens. Says "with Lactobacillus" (A source of live (viable) naturally-occurring microorganisms. Has added vitamins and minerals. Manufactured by MSC www.msccompany.com
Do not feed to lambs because of added copper.
It is a powder to mix with water and a 4.5 bag cost less than $10 and the cria I have been using it on is doing great. There are different rates of mixing on the package for what ever animal you are feeding, you weigh the powder and mix with an amount of water.
I have found it to be easy to store, mix and use in a bottle. I saw it on the Farm Store shelf with the dry colostrum and have been very happy with it.

We are using a recipe that I got at a Neonatal Clinic. It is used by Cheryl DeWitt.
6 oz. vanilla yogurt 3 Tbp. Karo Syrup 1 C half and half 4 C whole milk
This seems to be working. Our bottle baby is gaining weight and is doing well.
