May 12-13, 2012 - Portland OR The CABA Classic: The CABA Classic May 12th & 13th 2012.
The biggest and the BEST alpaca show in the Northwest.
Features include: Spin Off Competition, Photo Contest, Fleece Show, Halter Show, Vendors, Herdsire Breedings live auction at dinner on Saturday night, and Silent Auction.
The show is held in a superbly equipped climate controlled building very close to hotels and I-5.
The Feature event is the Classic Alpaca Fiber Academy Friday afternoon. Jude Anderson, Amanda VandenBosch and Cheryl Ghely will give a hands on presentation in fiber evaluation especially for making breeding decisions. Learn in small groups with the chance to personally interact with your tutor as much as you want! Priority check in for participants. This amount of alpaca fiber expertise has NEVER been offered before at an alpaca event. $50 per head.
Fleece show judging concludes prior to the Halter show start on Saturday a.m. Fleeces are on display in the Fleece Showcase all weekend. Great exposure for farms participating in the fleece show. Fleece Judge Cheryl Gehly awards ribbons in the show ring on Saturday a.m. at the beginning of the show. She is then available for questions and demonstrations all day in the Fleece Showcase. Fleece exhibitors from last year celebrated the chance to show off their stuff and get hands on feedback. This is an excellent chance for those new to fleece showing to learn from the most experienced fleece judge in the country.
Get along to the CABA Classic. Exhibitors from past Classics rave about the quality of the check in, the help they get with unloading and set up. They love the atmosphere of a “friendly” show, the professional facility and the ease of getting there. But especially they love the quality of animals, the level of judging expertise and the sincere effort to help exhibitors feel welcome and comfortable.
