UPDATE: Minnie Pearl has just delivered a lovely rose grey female out of PH Navigator's Commander! Check out Quarry Ridge Plum Blossom on her own page.

FINE! Fine fiber, fine color, fine conformation! This female is a true beauty. She was born at 16 lbs, and had an IgG of 2500. Her conformation is perfect and her fiber is exquisite. She is a light silver gray, almost blue, with absolutely no spots. Minnie Pearl was sired by Patagonia's Neruda, medium rose gray, who is advertised as the finest fibered of the Patagonia herdsires, out of a light silver gray dam out of 2 rose gray parents, with a very respectable micron count of 20 at age 3. Good bone, straight legs and back, a lovely head and exquisite fiber. Minnie's 2007 cria was a medium silver gray and her 2008 cria is a light rose gray, showing her consistency in producing gray.

Minnie Pearl will be bred to Finca Alta Vista's Champion herdsire, Starbuck, who has gray in his background and who has already sired

TRUE BLACK - NO WHITE ... ANYWHERE !!!

AND, HIS FIRST CRIA HAVE HIT THE GROUND RUNNING !!!

SO FAR (as of 5/16/08), Commander has produced 3 cria ... a true black female, a silver grey male & a silver grey female! His color production appears to be the mirror image of his renown sire, Navigator.

This gentle and stately (solid) true black male out of our multiple Color Champion gray herdsire, Navigator, is a real show stopper. Commander's grandparents, on both sides, have exceptional genetics AND lots of color. Commander's dam, PH Felix's Chocolat, has once again given us a blue ribbon winner. Commander's extremely soft, bright fleece exhibits very bold, wide amplitude crimp similar to his dam and his half sister.

Plum Blossom arrived as a slight surprise about 2 weeks before her mom's due date. After a somewhat shaky start, she grew like the proverbial weed and never looked back. Well balanced and proportioned, the Plum sports a beautiful, typey head and abundant soft and long-stapled light gray (very rare)fiber. Her tui blanket weighed in at an amazing 4 lbs and we were extremely pleased when she emerged from her enormous winter coat on shearing day. I'm sure she was equally pleased!

Plum Blossom hails from a long and distinguished line of grays and blacks. Amazing bloodlines! Her dam is a light silver gray daughter of the renowned Patagonia's Neruda and her sire is Paris Hill Commander, multi-champion true black son of Navigator, a super silver gray champion in his own right. Probability points to Plum Blossom continuing the gray tradition for your farm.

Plum Blossom sells with a transferable breeding to any Quarry Ridge herdsire, or with a breeding to Finca Alta Vista's multi-champion Starbuck. Your choice!
Buy her individually or in a $13,000 package with her lovely true black girlfriend, Quarry Ridge Jitterbug. What an asset they will be to your farm!
