Ppperuvian Senna

Medium Fawn, 139165, Peruvian

Ppperuvina Senna is likely one of the rare Peruvian imports that brought with her a gene for appaloosa.

  6Peruvian Century
    Light Rose Grey, 810338, Peruvian

There are less than 20 lines of appaloosa huacayas in the United States. Five of these lines resulted from heterozygous suris that produced appaloosa huacayas. Zoey is indeed a rare find, because she is one of the few "original" appaloosa huacayas, born to an imported huacaya dam, with her sire being the result of a pregnancy in an imported huacaya female. On top of that, Zoey is full Peruvian.

As with most harlequins, Zoey was born as a fawn with dark spots. Within the first year of her life, the fawn was replaced with dark rose-to-silver grey. If one looks closely, the original spots are still discernible, especially on her wildly-spotted face. If you like having one of kind, Zoey or an offspring could bring that to your herd.

Presently Zoey is bred to our young harlequin appaloosa, Enchanted Hill Jelly Bean, and has a good chance of producing an appaloosa cria. Jelly Bean is from two appies so has a possibility of being homozygous for the appaloosa gene. In order to keep our herd from growing too large, Zoey is seriously for sale. She was bred to Jelly Bean on 5/23/2016 and had a positive ultrasound on 6/10/2016. If you'd like to be the owner of Zoey and her next "likely-an-appaloosa" cria, give us a call.
