Olympia is awesome. She has goregeous bold high frequency crimp from head to toe. She is dense, and consistent. Her sire is Victor's Vic Jr. (perhaps the finest son of PPeruvian Victor). Victor is Medium Fawn over Black. Victor's Vic Jr is Medium Fawn over either dark brown or black. Vic Junior's dam is 1/2 accoyo and 1/2 Hemmingway, making Vic Jr. 3/4 accoyo and Olympia 7/8 accoyo. Olympia's dam Senora Accoyo Olga is an import from Estancio Accoyo, chosen personally by Mike Safely for Sunset Hills Alpacas. Olga has amazing density, and her fleece rated a perfect score for density. Olympia carries on her parents legacies, in high crimpy style. Olympia took second in a huge class (16 light fawn huacaya juveniles) at the Alpaca Western Extravaganza, and she was beat out by her farm-mate Princessa who took first by a nose. Her first cria was a tremendous light fawn 15/16 accoyo 1/16 Hemmingway boy, color champion Aries whose fleece is to-die-for. Two years ago bred to the spectacula
Holy Cow! This blue ribbon guy is absolutely amazing. There are very few fawn full accoyos in the US, and this one has Caligula and Royal Fawn for Grandsires. His sire is Accoyo Royal Avenger, multi-color champion and his dam is Caligula's Accoyo Pincessa, two time blue ribbon winner. Born at 18.5 pounds and up and running with the herd and nursing within an hour. He possesses the rare trait of skin folds on his neck that Don Julio Bareda was breeding into his elite accoyos to increase density. He is covered topknot to tail with ultrafine curlycue fleece. His fiber simply drips with glowing golden hued curly crimpy fiber. He has the beautiful champaign colored fleece of his dam, whose fleece was still just 18 microns at age three. Caligula is no longer with us, but this is a way to get two of the greatest bloodlines in the US in one future herdsire. He took his first blue ribbon at the SEPA show. Judge Wade Geese had to look long and hard to decide on the Color champ, with Fawn sa
Asenath is a fawn 15/16th's accoyo with one 16th alianza. She has terrific bloodlines, including Caligula, Victor, Royal Fawn, Royal Avenger with just a dash of Hemmingway. She has an incredible head. Her fleece is so crimpy. I would have to say that this is the crimpiest fleece I have seen born on our farm, and we have made some doozies. If you want to add fawn accoyo color genetics, great bloodlines and great fleece character to your breeding program, Asenath is the way to do this. Two of her mother's three older cria have championed. Both her mother and father have thrown black so its possible she covers black.
She never really got her show career going as she got a shallow cut right in the center of her back and we had to shave her back to treat it. She's fine no lasting problem but a huge shaved area on her back ended her show career before it really got started. Her father Fawn Connery's cria have been doing great in the ring (champion son, fleece awards, blue ribbons) I really think she would have done well.
She was been bred to Accoyo Greyback and they had a stunning son together check out Ephraim. We loved him so much we repeated the breeding and got a lovely dark girl, Anora (on our sold list). This confirmed Asenath covers black. We bred her to our full Alianza tuxedo gray and got the most gorgeous fancy harlequin appaloosa. This little guys is just stunning. Check out Tristano on our sales list. She is currently bred to "Run for the Roses" and we are hoping for a showy rose gray.
