| | Dont let this blue-eyed girl fool you. Her first cria won a color champion in a brown class last January at the 2005 Sunshine State Alpaca Expo. Her second cria, Gloria, did very respectable in the show ring and sold when she was less than a year old. Leona is a great mother and just gave us her third female cria in a row! The latest female cria is sired by our black Peruvian stud, Noche. We are sure she is going to do well in the ring too. Leona is bred back to Panasche for a 4/30/08 cria; lets hope she has another girl! She sells with her female cria by her side and pregnant with a live birth guarantee.
UPDATE:
Leona Just had another female cria sired by Panasche! She is a wonderful rose grey and it looks like the fiber is going to be great. Leona will be bred back to Midnight Man for her '09 cria. | |

Bay Black, 840414, Full Peruvian

|
| | Noche Negro is full Peruvian bay black stud. He has won color championships and blues all over the United States. He is co-owned and is a very important part of both breeding programs. His first babies are on the ground and they are spectacular. They are displaying strong conformation, a lot of coverage, and an improvement in fleece. | |

Cecelia, like all of her other siblings out of our Leona, has grown up strong and quick. We think it is genetic. We place a lot of value on animals that mature quickly because there is such a long generation gap in alpacas.
Leona, Cecelias dam, milks like a cow and is the one that is first out of the barn and last back in at night. We have never been able to keep a Leona baby on our farm, someone always buys them.
Cecelia is registered as a medium brown, but as she has age, it seems like she is darkening up and now would be considered a fading bay black; if there is such a thing. She actually fades to a white under belly, almost like a vicuña pattern. What makes this so interesting to us is that Cecelias dam, Leona, is a blue eyed white and cecelias grandsire is genetically a rose grey (even though he is registered as brown). So now you add in that Cecelias full Peruvian black sire, Noche Negro, has given her a recessive black color gene. Knowing all of this, we plan to breed this girl back to our other black full Peruvian stud, Midnight Man, knowing that there is a 50% chance of having a black and there is a possibly that the cria may even be grey. Midnight Man won Reserve Champion at the 2005 AOBA National Fleece Show, so whatever the offsprings color is going to be, it will probably be quite nice.
Cecelia sells with a live birth and reproductive guarantee as well as a breeding to Midnight Man.
