Enchanted Hill Alpacas
When selecting breeding stock, we kept two points in mind:
(1) Our alpacas must be calm and friendly.
(2) The fiber must be interesting, suitable for spinning, & a delight to work with.

Hokie Pride

White, 816941, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

If you're looking to add a healthy, young, and sturdy producer to your herd, Hokie Pride is worth taking a look at. White, with a colored dam, she has produced otwo white & three colored crias and has milked suberbly. In fact, her mothering instinct is so strong that with her first cria, she adopted an orphan and raised two healthy babies. That's on her first lactation!

In our herd, we have been extremely pleased with animals of diverse pedigree. Being half Peruvian and half Chilean, Hokie has that winning combination of genes, with the Peruvian genes coming from Mister Universe, a seldon-seen contributor of import genetics. With good bone and excellent conformation, this girl should be a super producer of outstanding crias for years to come.

Hokie is presently bred to full Peruvian Derwydd Peruvian Novio, a beautiful 1/2 Accoyo, full Peruvian fawn herdsire (grandson of Accoyo Shere Khan). Previously Hokie has always produced outstanding crias. Imagine what thi

Full Peruvian and half Accoyo, Novio still has an outstanding fleece as a nine-year-old. His fleece character as well as his wonderfully balanced conformation are attributable to the heritage of his imported Peruvian parents, the sire of which is a son of Don Julio Barreda's famous macho, Accoyo Shere Khan.

This gorgeous daughter of Derwydd Peruvian Novio and Hokie Pride arrived on Labor Day, hence her name Laboria. We call her Bori. She was born in the pasture, weighing 18.2 pounds and was up and following her mother within minutes. Bori's gaining quickly and is up to 85 pounds as of early February.
She is eating grain and hay well, and will be weaned by early March.

Showing the coverage and fiber style of her sire, Bori shows promise of being a show stopper early on, and should certainly make an exceptional breeder for anyone looking for the Accoyo Shere Khan genetics.

Write or call for more information, including lots of photos of your choice.

Summer '09 update: Bori is looking mature and will be of a good breeding size this fall. She is already teasing the males at the fenceline. If purchased now, Bori can remain at Enchanted Hill until the fall breeding season, then be bred to the male of the buyer's choice, and still have free boarding until she has a positive ultrasound approximately 40 days after breeding.
