The first Domingo cria have arrived and they will be speaking for themselves in the fall show rings. Our Cierra, dam of Charles P. Atlas and daughter of Peruvian Matador, produced a light fawn Domingo son in May. This boy is very special and worth taking the time to see in person. Some of our best girls are going Domingo's way in 2008.
The poster boy for Windy Ridge Alpacas in Canada, Domingo brings a wonderful pedigree to Ohio. He is ready and willing to begin creating immensely dense, well-covered, and exquisitely beautiful cria for your farm. He carries a broad but deep crimp that will blend well with girls whose fineness cannot hold crimp, or girls whose crimp is a high frequency but not bundled or defined.
He is the grandson of Don Julio, one of the most cherished bloodlines of Snowmass Alpacas. In fact, they purchased all of the Don Julio line females at Windy Ridge just after Domingo was sold and included one of them in their most recent auction. Don Julio is also the grandsire of Magical's Peruvian Jericho. His line is well-respected for their great density, fineness, and crimp. He was sold to Australia from Canada early in his breeding career. The last female born in the US was the much decorated Snowmass Wedding Pacabells, just sold at 10 years of age for $72,000.
Domingo's dam is Jolimont Peruvian Danika, a beautiful import who has produced one gorgeous cria after another.
Domingo can add density to your females with a shear weight in 2005 of 12 lbs.+. He can add great coverage. And he will add his tremendous curb appeal. His line has had very little genetic exposure in the U.S.
We are honored to have the opportunity to co-own Domingo with Robbie Grodin of Chagrin River Farm.
