Snowmass Chiarella

Medium Fawn, 812527, Full Peruvian

Daughter of the legendary Hemingway, CHIARELLA (say CHEE-uh-RAY-uh) is a sweet and gentle female who passes on her desirable temperament to her offspring.

CHIA's darling face is enhanced by a white blaze on the front of her dense topknot, and she has dense coverage of finely crimped, lustrous golden fleece down to her toes. She exhibits a compact body style, good bite and heavy bone.

A notable trait of CHIA and her daughters is that they are bold at the dinner table! They have no trouble holding their weight while lactating heavily, and we don't worry about coddling them when they are visiting at a breeding farm.

CHIA delivers her 15-21 lb. crias unassisted, provided ample milk and is a calm and patient mother.

We weren't surprised when Gracie's 2010 cria, CCAP White Lightning, took 1st Place TWICE in the Show Ring in the Fall 2010. When you look at the pedigree behind Gracie, with Hemingway genetics on her dam's side, fine fleece is almost a given! Currently open, Gracie will be bred soon to another remarkable herdsire!

What can this statuesque Full Peruvian female do for your breeding program? Would you like to see your crias arriving with ultra-dense fleeces in Royal Baby fineness? Amazing Grace has done that before, and she can do that for you as well! There are bargain females, and then there are females whose value to your breeding program is immeasurable.

Amazing Grace is a low-maintenance alpaca and mother, and she is very protective of her cria. Like the rest of her dam and sisters, Grace milks heavily, with her crias always showing steady weight gains. Producing vigorous crias, they are quickly up on their feet to nurse. The crias have perfect bites, sturdy bone, and can fend for themselves at dinner time!

Amazing Grace's lofty fleece exhibits long staple, high frequency, low amplitude crimp, bundling and popcorn architecture. Its low micron and sd contribute to the silky soft handle.

Grace's dam, daughter of the legendary Hemingway, has been a great producer of female offspring, and we hope it will continue to run in the family.

Some of Grace's offspring have already been placing in the show ring: McKinley placed 3rd in the 2007 AOBA Nationals Spin-Off, Pure Joy placed 1st in the 2008 NWAS Spin-Off and 2nd in the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show.

  Awards Received
2nd Place, 2004 PNAA Northwest Alpaca Showcase, Halter (judge comments, "beautiful fleece, excellent conformation and body capacity")
