Carina is a strong fiber producer, as well as great mother. She has conformation, lots of dense fleece, fine fiber in a beautiful dark fawn. Her dam, Clover, is a granddaughter of the well known Peruvian Hemingway. Carina's grandsire, Royal Icing, also has a reliable reputation for producing quality, both in conformation and fiber production. Carina has the best characteristics of both her parents and grandparents. Her sire, Camana's Merlin has also produced many excellent offspring and brings the mystery of his unique (Grey) coloring into this fine line of alpacas. Add this strong beautiful girl to your breeding program. Carina had a dark fawn boy on Dec 8th and he is doing well, IgG over 2000. Carina is a very nice mellow girl and her children are just like her. Quest - 2008 baby not included in sale and Carina will broad free till baby is weaned. Now 13 years old (pictured at 11 1/2), he's still 'got it'! See his crias at Sixth Day Farm in New York or at Inti in New Hampshire.
The image of his legendary Alianza sire, PERUVIAN DON JULIO, MISTER MAVERICK ("M&M" to his friends) is eye-catching with flawless conformation and a perfect bite. From outstanding lineage, he has the traits you expect: dense fine fleece, extravagant coverage, heavy bone, and no coarse guard hair. For fine fleeces - that stay fine as the years go by - breed your females to MISTER MAVERICK.
In the '06 Making of Champions sale catalog, Julie Skinner of Snowmass Alpacas states that she traded two imported full Accoyo studs to obtain PERV. DON JULIO, "...he was that good!". Listed as 'Cantexto' in import records, he recieved a 'superior' rating. Exported to Australia in 1997, there are no more D
Micron Count 2012: Certified grade 4 at almost 7 yrs of age
Twister has dense soft handle with long staple length with a very deep crimp and brightness. Very gentle, easy to work with male. A ton of fleece on this male. Twister is a super buy, great genetics and he has the fleece qualities to boot. Great buy for a small farm not wanting to put out big bucks. Twister knows what to do, when it comes to breeding. We used Twister for a spit test and he tried to take the girl down. Twister always has a ton of fleece on him and when you touch him, still soft at his age. When his blanket comes off,he has pink in the blanket. It doesn't show up on the surface, its a color of fawn that never came threw on his blanket. The first year we sheared him, we thought we had cut him and he was bleeding out. Not true, just his genes giving him another color, his mother is fawn. Don Julio(deceased) bloodlines are becoming rare in the US, Twister's Dad "Mr. Marverick" has since died. When we named Twister, we didn't know it would suit him so well. He loves to twist in the air. He looks shorter but isn't, he's as tall as most of our alpacas. He is related too many of our girls to use him for breeding. Never changes his looks and the length of his fiber is still long for his age. A ton of fiber on this boy again this year and snow white/bright, filled the skirting table again this year 2019
