For those of us that have followed the great Altiplano Gold line that has produced show winner after show winner, here's one of his beautiful granddaughters that could surpass many Full Accoyos. Extreme density and bundling, crimp & more crimp and very bright. Mandolin has full leg coverage and thick topknot. She has a pleasant personality and is good to work with, an all around excellent foundation animal that should produce color as well.
She shears one of the highest fleece weights of the females in my herd.
PHA Accoyo Vortex is now owned 100% by ALPACA HEIGHTS! To celebrate we're offering reduced stud fees for the first 5 breedings of 2012. Contact Mary for more info or to request a fiber sample. We have several offspring here at the farm to evaluate as well.
We challenge you to find a herdsire whose first offspring average a micron of 18.07, SD 3.82, CV 21.34, CF 99.46. And no, they were not tested at birth, but rather all were 7 to 8 months of age and eating grain! All have extreme brightness, zipper crimp, fineness and density.
Ventura is one of the 1st Accoyo Vortex daughters to be born here on my farm. She joins half-siblings Venturo, Vista, Victoria, Veanna & Valentina under my barn roof! All are over-the-top fleece producers and I'm proud to own them.
As a maiden, Ventura achieved her first pregnancy on 1 breeding and carried to full-term without a hitch. She had an easy birth & abundant milk for her new female cria who is thriving. Her cria represents the 1st combo of Accoyo Vortex & Providence Laurent genetics for me and the result has been one amazing cria, Glamour. I can't wait for fiber stats. I expect her first fleece to sell for $48/lb.
Ventura is currently open and receptive. I recommend a rebreed back to Providence Laurent for another Glamour-like cria.
Awards Received MIAF 2011, 6th place fleece behind Alpaca Heights other Vortex offspring who took 4th & 5th!
