>Maraca, a chocolate maroon female born on July 13, 2010 has finally arrived. Her placenta weighed 11 pounds 2 ounces. What a relief for Goose as she had a very uneventful delivery. Loaded with tons of milk for her cria Maraca will grow even healthier. Goose is very consistent with her crias and has produced 3 females and 1 male. Two of them have been Blue Ribbon and Color Champ winners. Maraca's sire is Highlands Chieftan. We look forward to another winner and fiber producer.
>CRESCENDO, a maroon boy, is Golden Goose's 3rd cria, son to El Nino - Valerian!!! Hands on, we already feel the density through his handle. Her other two cria have already takens blues and we expect CRESCENDO to display similar results.
Golden Goose has proven and is continuing to throw superior offspring. With the combination of Goose and Valerian it adds up to a future Herdsire that will continue to improve this industry today and down the road as breeders look for the best of the best
BIG NEWS: Chieftain has proven his ability to maintain his outstanding fleece characteristics even as a breeding male. During the Spring 2009 show season, he added two Color Championships (PAOBA and MAPACA), one Reserve Color Championship (Nationals), and the Judge's Choice Award. Judge Mike Safley compared him to a juvenile for the Championship at MAPACA and declared him the finest in the class. What a great compliment for a three year old! CHECK OUY THIS GUY'S HISTOGRAM: At four years of age Chieftain is still carrying a 18.6 AFD with a 19.6 CV and only 1.1%>30. Awesome for a male who has been breeding for two years!
Chieftain has a strong, square frame with soft, bright fiber everywhere. Want crimp? He has it from his top knot literally down to his knees! His dam is our finest fibered colored female and his sire is the legend-in-the-making Six time Color Champion Peruvian Lancaster. What a great match-up this was for color and fiber! Chieftain's numbers fr
This year Maraca produced a total fleece weight of 6.3 pounds. Her raw fiber sold immediately bringing in top dollar and is no longer available until next shearing season.
Daughter to Lancaster's Highland Chieftain - Melody Lane Peruvian Maraca offers a lineage and history of high end quality. Maraca carries the genetics of PPPeruvian Design (Peru), Spinners Dream Nina Roche, 5 Peruvian Capuccino (Peru), CPeruvian Tanya (Peru), 588 Peruvian Lancaster, and 6Peruvian Conan (Peru).
Daughter of HAA Peruvian Golden Goose, Maraca's dam needs no introduction as she stands next to none with her lineage and history of winning offspring. HAA Peruvian Golden Goose is consistent with passing fiber that is fine, long staple and has an oily handle to it. Lineage of 5Peruvian Camelot (Peru), HAA Camalots Triumphant Son, 5Peruvian Fantasia (Peru), Peruvian White Out (Peru), PLF Christmastime, PPPeruvian Springtime (Peru).
Between the sire and the dam Maraca is blessed with the complete package and her recognized winnings are proof.
Maraca, has deep brown coloring with a strong maroon overcast making her fiber a color that is very desirable, hard to achieve and looks like velvet as she moves. Her crimp is tight and small and well over 4 inches in staple length with tons of softness. She is large boned and walks regally on halter.
Maraca has achieved many awards but we are especially proud of the 2013 AOBA Nationals Spinoff in Denver Colorado. Melody Lane Maraca was honored with the only Blue Ribbon and High Color Score Ribbon for the Huayaca Class. All entries were judged by 4 judges instead of the usual 1. All judges had to agree on winners before ribboning. There were over 200 entries for this competition.
Melody Lane Maraca is ready to start her breeding program and is looking for a farm who is serious about improving and breeding for high quality fleece.
A free breeding to one of our herdsires is offered at time of sale.
