Yasmina is a gorgeous beige with slightly darker appaloosa spots on her neck and feet. Her fiber has beautiful crimp, is lustrous, and has great handle and density.
On the male side of the family, Yasmina has Tell Hot Shot as her father, NGG Lional as her grandfather, and Peruvian Bueno as her great grandfather. On the dam's side is her wonderfully fibered mom, Raquel's Maya. Maya's sire is Victor's Vaccoyo. Here is a quote from Vaccoyo's owners, the Fellers of Sunset Hills Farm: "VICTOR VACCOYO is a full Accoyo macho who consistently transmits his phenomenal fleece characteristics of deep bold crimp and extreme density to his offspring. He is a renowned sire of Show Ring Champions, both in the United States and Canada. The son of PPeruvian Victor, this male is probably one of the best Victor son's now available for stud in the US"
In the spring of 2006, Victor's Vaccoyo was selected to be in the IAO Elite Herdsire Services Auction. His breeding sold for a
Bo is the superlative herdsire we've been waiting on, with all our requirements wrapped into one--great conformation, super fiber, laid-back personality, and an outstanding pedigree. Add to that his wonderful appaloosa spots found scattered from head to toe, and we've got a winner. Oh!!!! If he were just ready to breed! But he's worth the wait.
Summer '09 update: The ultrasound confirms we have six Bo crias on the way, due in the spring of 2010.
Bo's dam, Calliope, is from the best-known U.S. herd for producing premier appaloosas--Dewey Meadows. And Calliope just may very well be the best they've ever had. It was a smart move when Becca Black, Queen B Alpacas, purchased Calliope, a first step in creating Bo. Check out Calliope's photos to see the quintessential huacaya, dressed in appaloosa spots.
The next step in the creation of Bo was the selection of his sire, the world-renown Accoyo, Ppperuvian El Moustachio.
This could well be the nicest cria we've ever had born at Enchanted Hill. Yasbo has superb conformation, along with fine, crimpy, well-bundled fiber. She is covered head to toe and has those little short, spikey "carrot" ears. On top of this, what a personality! Stand in the barn a minute or two and you'll find someone nibbling at your coat sleeve or shirt tail and when you turn to look, there's the cutest little alpaca you've ever seen. She may dart away and kick up her heels, but she'll be back to check you out.
Yasbo's pedigree is filled with well-known animals, and their genes have combined superbly to give us this little fibrous darling. The outstanding ancestors include: El Moustachio, Peruvian Platinum, NGG Lional, Pperuvian Victor, Peruvain Bueno, and Acero Marka's Rockamundo. No wonder this little girl has it all!
