OLA Vidalia's Velvet

White, 30952539, Full Peruvian

Velvet comes from a strong lineage with her dam, MFI Peruvian Vidalia an Emilio daughter and her sire T Peruvian Tupelo who is bay black from 6Peruvian Silver Cesario and PPPeruvian Tansy, a Sollocota import that was noted as having beautiful fleece. Velvet has that an outstanding head shape and topknot. She has decent fineness with a 21.3 micron and has average staple length and density. In Velvet's only showing for 2008, she placed 6th in a class of 15 at NIAE. Judge Sharon Loner noted Velvet's outstanding presence and conformity. She carries 2 fawn spots that gives her a strong possibility of throwing color when bred to color and her sire is bay black! Velvet’s grand dam was a medium fawn. Velvet is confirmed pregnant for August 2011 to full fawn accoyo Don Marcelino, a Timeteo son.

  Ark's Zephyriah
    Bay Black, 20009168, Full Peruvian

Bay Black/Black (color checked both bay black and black at shows in 2006) son of 10 times color champion, Zephyrus (The Cria Barn at Cranberry Creek, Ohio and Sunset Hills Alpacas, Pennsylvania), this outstanding young male did well in the show ring in 2006, never placing out of the ribbons and winning a blue at the GMAF, Madison, WI. and IAOBA, Peoria, IL.

This male has very dense, very fine, crimpy fiber with high frequency crimp. The fiber analysis of a randomly selected sample gave him a 17.7 mean fiber diameter! His very dark color is in contrast to his fawn sire.

Recent skin biopsy done by Dr. Norm Evans shows a density of 61.25 follicles per SQ MM and an SP ratio of 12:1. This places Zephyriah well above the average alpaca which Dr. Evans reports as 39.75 follicles per SQ MM and ratio of 8.75:1.

Oak Lawn Alpacas are pleased to co-own this award winning herdsire with Jim and Linda Stark from Alpacas of the Ark.

Zephyriah has 14 offspring on the ground
