This sweet female is out of superior parents with incredible fleeces. Her dams fleece is a Blue Ribbon winner and her sires 18 micron fleece weighed in at 13.5 pounds! Chocolat's own fleece weighed in in 2005 at over 7# and has earned a Second Place at the 2002 North American Show and Second Place at the 2002 AOBA Nationals under Judge Sumar. Both classes were large and very competitive. The female that placed ahead of her at AOBA went on to win the National Color Championship putting Chocolat in some very good company. And, her fleece took Second Place at the 2002 Coastal Classic. Her first cria, Noreen, a gorgeous black female out of seven time Color Champion, Peruvian Black Epic, also sheared over 7# in 2005 and earned a ribbon in her first show and took First Place at MaPaca, the largest alpaca show in the country. Choco sells with a complimentary breeding to one of our award-winning herd sires.
Medium Silver Grey, 828686, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian
Navigator first caught our eye, and of many other breeders, at the 2002 All American Alpaca Futurity. This third generation gray and grandson of Macusani has outstanding conformation, full coverage throughout, a wonderful presence and the finest, densest fleece we've ever seen on a gray. Apparently all the judges think so too, as Navigator has earned a Blue Ribbon in every show he's entered. His awards, before retiring from the show ring after the 2003 MaPACA Jubilee at just under two years old, include 4 Color Championships and 6 Blue Ribbons.
TRUE BLACK. STILL NO WHITE ... ANYWHERE at 9+ years !!!
AND, HIS CRIA HAVE HIT THE GROUND RUNNING !!!
SO FAR, Commander has produced black, bay black, silver grey, rose grey & brown! His color production appears to be as successful as that of his renown sire, Navigator.
This gentle and stately (solid) true black male out of our multiple Color Champion gray herdsire, Navigator, is a real show stopper. Commander's grandparents, on both sides, have exceptional genetics AND lots of color. Commander's dam, PH Felix's Chocolat, has once again given us a blue ribbon winner. Commander's extremely soft, bright fleece exhibits very bold crimp similar to his dam and his half sister.
After much pre-show attention, we were very proud that Commander earned a Blue Ribbon, along with a Reserve Championship, in his first show ring appearance at the 2005 SEPA Alpaca Show. Following his debut, Commander then stood tall once again four weeks later and took a Blue Ribbon and a Color Championship at the Breeder's Choice Futurity. To quote the judge, "This young male, the youngest in the class, is conformationally correct and phenotypically perfect. I see here a fine, dense fleece, not common in dark animals, that displays wonderful brightness and abundant character." And, to finish off his first show season, at the 2005 Empire Alpaca Extravaganza, with 50 black males entered, Commander took his third Blue Ribbon in an extremely competitive class, followed by another well deserved Color Championship.
In 2006 and in 2007, Commander took five more blue ribbons and 2 more Championship banners.
Commander's color consistentency, genetics & tally of Championships & Blues make him one of the country's most notable black sires.
Commander's breeding fee is $2,000.
If he is sold, we will retain 3 breedings to this beautiful male.
