Dougherty Creek's Shannon Christy

Medium Brown, 851596

Shannon was hand picked to be one of our foundation animals. We decided to go with quality, not quantity. She has amazing fleece with unbelievable density. In 2004, she brought home the Blue Ribbon from the AOBA Summer National Fleece Show. In 2006, she sheared a total of 8.5 pounds, 4.4 pounds in her blanket alone!

Shannon has had 5 picture perfect deliveries and has been a doting mother with plenty of milk. Her first three female cria have matched or exceeded Shannon's shear weight and fleece quality.

With her breeding to Principe Gris we were hoping to tap into her grey ancestry. GalPaca's Silver Lightning did not disappoint. He is a striking MSG who has a commanding presence as well as eye catching fleece. This boy is something to keep an eye on. We were so pleased with this breeding that we have rebred her to Principae Gris. This year we got a marvelous DB female who will be hitting the show circuit in the spring.

Shannon also comes with a breed bac

  CCR’S Principae Gris
Medium Silver Grey, 30878976, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

We are proud to add this wonderful new stud to our group of quality herdsires. It is wonderful to see a grey stud that has a lot of crimp and is as soft as butter. It is also great to see this kind of frame on a grey stud. Principae has great proportions and we are eagerly waiting for him to start breeding in spring.

If you are interested in bloodlines, this guy is a McGwire son. McGwire is a full Accoyo rose grey male sired by the great Victor. On his dam side he has three generations of grey.

Principae has already done well in the show ring as well. He has won a Color Champion as a juvenile as well as a couple of blue ribbons.

We are sure that this guy is going to sire a lot of high quality grey offspring so call now to schedule a breeding this spring.

We recently had Principae biopsied through Alpaca Consulting USA and we were very pleased with the results:

Follicular density of 49.7
In Skin AFD of 19.35
S/P Ratio of 9:1

  Micron Count
2011: AFD 22.5, SD 4.87. CV 21.66, CF 92.8

GalPaca Farm's Leather and Lace Sold!

Listed by Mindy Huitt & Linda Kosovac of Mount Horeb, WI

Print Listing | Certificate | Histogram

With a white face, dark brown body and white feet we have our 'Leather and Lace' gal (Lacey).

Lacey has taken on density from her dam while inheriting her finess and grey genetics from her sire. Lacey has a handle you just can't beat and her fleece/yarn will fly off the shelves. We believe Lacey's future lies with Tsunami, our 12x champion silver grey. Lacey comes with a full breeding guarantee and a breeding to Tsunami... or any of our other herdsires you may choose.

She is still young but her future lies with Tsunami, our 12 time champion. We believe they are a perfect match. She already has a good start with grey genes from her sire.
