Desaque 9005 IMPZ98

Medium Brown, 809569, Full Bolivian

This Bolivian female was an import. She was terrified of everything when we got her. She did not know how to lead, and literally had to be carried down the drive to the barn when she was delivered to us. She was never mean or nasty but froze with any contact. During our next leading experience, she just dropped onto her side with all four feet straight out and stayed on the ground for an eternity. After months of patient handling, she walked on a loose lead and tolerated all procedures well. She still squawked like an old hen getting haltered but stood still all the same. She would even lean toward you to allow you to remove the halter. She became one of the farm favorites with her funny personality. The development of trust is a wonderful experience. Desaque was a large girl with good conformation and beautiful color to her fleece. Even at age fifteen, she had a wonderful handle to her fleece!

  Agassiz's Duke
    White, 1194579, 1/4 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian

If you are looking for rare Accoyo bloodlines, look no further!! When we found Duke, we were looking for a male that would add some density and increase fleece character/quality in our colored females, without compromising softness and handle. His softness, and extreme character could not be denied. Ironically what had cost him higher show placings--a distinct brown spot on his left side. The fact that his maternal sister was a brown Color Champion was an added assurance that he would throw color as well as quality for us! Duke's first 2 cria are LIGHT ROSE GRAY GIRLS!! --and the first just won a Blue Ribbon in her first show!! Duke has a very stylish head, full coverage, and a wonderful handle to his fiber. Another fact about Duke, is that he is by far the tallest alpaca in our herd! However, he maintains a very nice personality and is easy to work with. Some of his genetic tree:

HVFD The Duke's Dutchess  (Gorgeous UniqueColor)

Print Listing | Certificate | Histogram

Dutchess is a GORGEOUS big girl out of our 1/2 Accoyo Canadian import Agassiz's Duke! We were thrilled when she was born. Her color is very unique--a very pale light rose gray (almost pink) out of a maroon dam. Dutchess was curious and in to everything from the minute she was born. She is a sweet girl and easy to handle. Due to a veterinary error, her dam Desaque spent almost two months at New Bolton Center. Desaque was deaf and blind due to this error and it took several months for her to recover. Dutchess won the hearts of all the New Bolton staff as she would lead her mother to food and water when it was put in their stall. Her dam never did fully recover all of her sight. We never weaned her and they lived together until we recently lost her Bolivian import dam at 15 years of age. Desaque was always a wonderful mother and gave us three beautiful girls. Dutchess has great fiber length and density with a finer high frequency crimp style. At 19 months of age, she sheared 5.6 pounds. Her sire is the tallest male we have in the herd. He has a wonderful disposition and has given us two girls with this unique coloring!! Sabrina is Dutchess's sister out of Duke and a Blue Ribbon winner for us!! Duke's maternal sister Charm is medium brown and a five time blue ribbon winner and Champion for Agassiz's Alpacas in Canada!! Dutchess's granddam and Duke's dam Snowflake carries rare genetics for this continent!! Snowflake, an Australian import, is a daughter of Purrumbete Snowman, one of the original 6 Accoyo males imported into Australia by the Haldanes. Owned by Pucara Stud, but now deceased, Snowman was a large alpaca and was known to consistently transmit soft handling fleeces to his progeny – a well documented trait. There are only a few direct Snowman offspring in North America. Dutchess is now pregnant with her first cria and we cannot wait to see what she produces!! Check out mothering skills of her granddam in pics! Boy or girl, I'm sure we will be pleased!
