MFI Peruvian Maverick
Pattern, 809039, Full Peruvian
MFI Peruvian Maverick is an outstanding Champion and Blue Ribbon winning herdsire known for his extremely dense fleece. His cria have remarkable fleeces demonstrating his high frequency crimp style, extreme brightness and consistency. He is a macho that is "full of himself" and proudly displayed this characteristic in the show ring. Add perfect conformation, a gentle disposition, and cria with great color and these genetics will be an asset to your herd. Maverick's offspring continue to makes us proud. He is now producing rose gray and true black. "Come see what we have brewing"!
Forstners fleece took 1st place in the 2006 AOBA National Conference Spin-Off competition! When I look at that sample which is now 5 years old, I can't help but think "No wonder". He has wonderful, bright fleece with excellent crimp, character and consistency from one color to the next. In addition to his fleece qualities, Forstner's got a good bite, excellent conformation, and a gentle and friendly personality. This is our our boy who comes to get his chin scratched and remains so mellow with us two-legged friends. He even goes and gets on the scale by himself when brought into that section of the barn on herd health days. But lest you think he's not studly, rest assured that he's quite the macho with the other male alpacas!
As he gets older, Forstners density is increasing and increasing--we can hardly wiggle our fingers down to the skin (in the winter, hes our favorite handwarmer!)
We've only bred him once as we have too much of his genetics already. The breeding was to a TB female and the result was a beautiful fancy female cria. She really was gorgeous and we were so excited--but unfortunately, she had an accident and had to be euthanized at 3 weeks of age.
We just got back his processed fleece and it is absolutely obvious why this fleece took a first at AOBA. It is spectacular--the spinner who did the processing could not stop raving about how wonderful it was to work with. It is too soft to be believed, and we are thrilled to show it off!!
Our stud fee of $400 is for a drive-by breeding.
