When selecting breeding stock, we kept two points in mind: (1) Our alpacas must be calm and friendly.(2) The fiber must be interesting, suitable for spinning, & a delight to work with.

Senna's Zoey

Pattern, 20022211, Full Peruvian

There are less than 20 lines of appaloosa huacayas in the United States. Five of these lines resulted from heterozygous suris that produced appaloosa huacayas. Zoey is indeed a rare find, because she is one of the few "original" appaloosa huacayas, born to an imported huacaya dam, with her sire being the result of a pregnancy in an imported huacaya female. On top of that, Zoey is full Peruvian.

As with most harlequins, Zoey was born as a fawn with dark spots. Within the first year of her life, the fawn was replaced with dark rose-to-silver grey. If one looks closely, the original spots are still discernible, especially on her wildly-spotted face. If you like having one of kind, Zoey or an offspring could bring that to your herd.

Presently Zoey is bred to a fawn, A.L.Paca's Blitzer, and has a good chance of producing an appaloosa cria. In order to keep our herd from growing too large, Zoey will be for sale once we have an offspring from her in our herd. After thi

  MA Accoyo Rumplestilskin
    Light Fawn, 1152470, Peruvian

Accoyo Rumplestiltskin has everything one would be looking for in a full-accoyo herdsire.

"Rumple" has a beautiful light-fawn fleece. His fleece is incredibly dense. He's got awesome crimp and is extremely fine.

Further, he's throwing color (including brown), and adding crimp, density and bone to each of his cria!

And, most importantly - he's got rare fawn Accoyo genetics. His sire is 6Peruvian Accoyo Grand Triumph, whose genetics were not overused. Further, both his sire and his dam are now deceased.

As a result, Rumple is unrelated to must full Accoyos. Even better, he's unrelated to just about all colored full ccoyos!

From a one-of-a-kind full Peruvian dam and a full Accoyo sire, Paratrooper offers some new genes to those interested in rare bloodlines. His dam is an exceedingly unusual harlequin appaloosa, the beginning step in one of only fifteen huacaya appaloosa lines. His sire, MA Accoyo Rumplestilskin, is an unusual full Accoyo fawn, the son of two white Accoyo imports.

On top of his genetics, Paratrooper has superb conformation. One will be hard-put to find a conformational flaw. And check out his fine fleece. At his first shearing, there will be a giant heap of gorgeous fiber.

Paratrooper was weaned at 7 months of age and 80+ pounds. He is microchipped, BVDV tested negative, walks well on a lead, and is ready for the show.

Better not slow down for a second look and a bunch of pondering. Act NOW!
