Alpadida is a full Peruvian production female that we picked up in late 2007 at a dispersal sale in Canada. We were, and still are, very happy with her good density, her fineness as she ages, and the character in her fleece.
Since we acquired her, she has had perfect production. She first gave us a male that we didnt register, but was quite nice. Then she has given us two females in a row. She has great mothering abilities and we are very pleased with the consistency of her offspring despite being bred to three different males for each of the three cria.
Now with two very nice daughters out of Alpadida, we feel we can let her go. She is currently bred to our Ultima, a Hemingway son that won his last championship at age 6, and she sells with a free breed back to any male Kinney Valley Alpacas, Inc. owns. She also sells with a live birth guarantee.
Alta’s Ultima of PVA
White, 819229, Full Peruvian
Ultima is one amazing stud! He won a reserve champion at The Great Midwest Alpaca Festival under Mike Safley at age SIX. Ultima has a very fine and uniform fleece still at age six. He has improved the fleece on every cria he has thrown. His sire is the legendary Peruvian Hemingway and is very well known. His dam, Alta, is Don Julio daughter and is a little less known. Alta, who was owned by Dr. David TenHulzen, won first place in the Juvenile White Huacaya Female class at the Peruvian Legacy Futurity Show in Scottsdale, AZ. The show was judged by three individual judges: Maggie Krieger, Jodi Sleeper-Robinson, and Dr. Julio Sumar. At the same show, Alta won Grand Champion Breed- Juvenile Huacaya Females (all colors), and Grand Champion: Color- White Huacayas (both sexes, all ages). Ultima would be an asset on any farm.
Update: Firefly delivers a wonderful female cria and is currently bred back to Show Time for a June 2016 cria.
Firefly is one of our favorite girls from the class 2010. She has an eye-catching upright presence to her. She has a dense, fine, and uniform fleece, and to top it all off, she only has white ancestors. If you are a breeder of fine white alpacas you know how hard it is to find an animal that only has white ancestry.
Speaking of ancestry, she has some interesting ancestors. First, she is sired by the full Allianza, Hemingway son, Altas Ultima of PVA. Ultima is a multiple champion who won his last banner when he was six in an ultra-competitive group of white males, a couple of which were multiple champions that sold for six figures.
Fireflys dam side has a unique story behind it as well. Alpadida was the results of two Cperuvian imports. These last imports were rumored to be the best of all the imported animals. The importers had learned a great deal and only selected the best. To top that off, these genetics are pretty rare here in the US.
Firefly is due shortly with a cria sired by Cooper!
