MIRAGE'S Stephie

Medium Brown, 31090636, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

Stephie has recently given birth to a BLACK! female cria, sired by our spectacular herdsire, Oliver of TKY, whose fiber maintains <20 microns, and was selected by ARI to be represented at Nationals in May as one of the outstanding EPD trait herdsires. Stephie produced her first cria, with HHF Kenamori's Felipe as sire, in October 2010. She has been a great mother, and has a sweet, gentle nature. She is the last cria of PPPeruvian DM Mogul II.

  Oliver of TKY
    Beige, 30372658, 1/2 Bolivian, 1/2 Peruvian

OLIVER WAS CHOSEN TO BE REPRESENTED IN THE TOP 5 LIST OF EPD TRAITS, with a RANK of 1, at the ARI exhibit during the AOBA National Conference and Show in Denver, May 2013. Be sure to see his Yocom-McColl 2012 report. With his combination of fiber, conformation, and heritage, Oliver would make a positive impact on breeding programs. His enthusiastic breeding to Scarlet O'Hara resulted in his first cria, Olympia of TKY, who displays her sire's gorgeous crimpy fiber, with AFD 15.7 and Mean Curvature 42.0. Killian O' TKY, (born 6/12) a medium brown with black face and foot accents, is a handsome statuesque maiden. Latest judge's comment rated his an "exceptional fleece."

A surprise! Her sire, Oliver of TKY, is beige, and her dam, Mirage's Stephie, is medium brown, so where did this true black cria come from? Both parents have true black in their heritage, so she comes by her color honestly. She is designated a non-breeder because she was born with a heart murmur, which is now minor. Her feistiness (she is an acrobat, like her father), strength and precosity (she started eating hay on day 1, and was the first of the crias to start eating grain) have made her a joy to watch. Thanks to her sire, she has gorgeous fiber, and will make a great fiber animal. Please note the white markings on L front and R rear feet, as well as white markings on her face - someone asked if alpacas grew horns, because they look like horn buds!

She is currently being weaned, and will ready for a new home later in December.
