Moore Brook Aphrodite

True Black, 833399, Full Chilean

Aphrodite is a stunning jet-black alpaca. She has consistently produced high-quality, ribbon-winning offspring with great conformation and exceptional fleece.
AOBA show judge Mike Saffley commented: “This girl has exceptional fineness and crimp for a black. Whatever breeding produced this girl, that’s a breeding that should be repeated over and over again.”
Mary Z. Reed, AOBA show judge, had this to say about Aphrodite: “There isn’t a thing I would do to change this girl. Look at that bone! She has excellent bone … and great coverage. Look at the coverage on her legs! This is an excellent animal. Congratulations!”

  Emerald Farm's Orlando Cloud
    Light Silver Grey, 1182316

News! ORLANDO HAS JUST BEEN NAMED HERDSIRE OF THE YEAR 2013, FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW! This award is based on the number of points accrued by winning offspring at MAPACA, to date the largest show in 2013.

Update: Empire Alpaca Extravaganza 2012, Gray and Fawn Halter Champion, and Gray Fleece Champion sired by Orlando. Also 6 Blue Ribbon winners sired by him too.

Here is the new standard for grey! Orlando stands above the rest with his consistent, dense architecture from his tail to his topknot. The judges have raved about this male from the time he hit the show circuit, and his offspring are now following in his footsteps with multiple Championships and Reserve Championships. When bred to grey or black his cria's colors have been 100% grey or true black with the exception of one which was bay black. He has also shown the ability to throw grey out of fawn as we have seen three cria like this from this color pairing.

Orlando is owned in partnership with Gray Alp

Mardi Gras is a full sister to our multiple champion, Cloud's Gem Stone. We repeated the breeding because Gem is truly a gem -- and so is Mardi Gras! She has absolutely beautiful silver fleece with loads of character. Great crimp, very fine. Her conformation is exemplary and to top it off, she has a wonderful sweet personality.

Mardi Gras' fleece won the highest scoring fleece award at MAPACA 2015 Spin-off. Judge called her fleece "stunning." It is!

Mardi Gras' sire, Orlando Cloud, is one of the world's top gray herdsires. His offspring have won more than 80 championships and 180 blues to date! Twice, Orlando has been awarded MAPACA's prestigious Herdsire of Year, in 2012 and 2013. Mardi Gras sells with a breeding to Spartan's Silver-Lining, our modern gray champion, with 13 banners, 19 blues and counting -- or you can have a transferable breeding (for one of your other girls) to Orlando Cloud!
