Ikat is a beautiful apaloosa. She placed first in the national spin-off and at that competition her fleece was carded into a solid color- hers is the first fleece I want to get my hands on to spin each year- at 9 years old her histogram remains superfine in the browns and the white. I won a second place at GWAS 2007 with a vest knit from her fleece. In addition to her attributes check out her offspring- especially those multis. Her son Camoflage is a multiple Champion in both multi and now in grey. He has also produced an appy Champion. Ikat's 2012 daughter is a fancy appaloosa by Apu Illapa and we've done that breeding again for 2013. Many of her offspring are a deal cause she's throwing the big genes that anyone would want in all colors and multiple colors! I bought this female not knowing the stigma attached to multis and I'd like to see another female that produces such consistently beautiful crias and a perfect fleece of her own. I'm pleased to have this bloodline that has
Apu Illapa BHAR
True Black, 30421233
His name means Lord Lightning in Quechua as he was born during a summer storm. His fleece is so dense, soft and bright you just want to hang on him and burrow. He has lovely architecture from base to tip. As you can see from his pictures he also has perfect conformation, a lovely head, perfect bite, and great balance.
This is the sweetest animal I have!! He's the first one to come and say hello. When I first got into the alpaca business I thought I would scream if I heard about another animal that would give me a kiss for $20,000.
If you add all this to his genetic make-up- a Compadre grandson with MSA Pinot Noir as a sire- you can't help, but end up with a beautiful cria.
The judge at the National fleece show commented on his great style. He has virtually no guard hair on a black animal at 3 yrs. old!
Apu also took a 3rd place at the World fleece show in Cleveland- the classes were large and there was some great competition. His 1/2 sister also got a 3rd
Specs is simply perfect in our eyes. This is what we're breeding for! Her dam is the first bred female I purchased and she has had our best crias every year. Spec's brother is our harlequin grey herdsire who won World Champ Multi in 2009's world fleece show. Un X Specs is a fancy appaloosa with amazing staple length and a rock solid build.
Specs has her first cria on the ground and he's a dark fawn silky by Still River's Blade Runner. Specs is an amazing mom. We have her bred the same way for another stunning cria. Spectrum, this year's cria will sell with his mom until he's weaned. He has extraordinary density and brightness and a great stocky build. A true treasure.
