Every livestock breed has the one Stud that surpasses all others-- not just in looks but in every element of excellence that defines the breed. In the alpaca, this element is primarily the fleece: Fineness of micron - Brightness and soft handle - good staple length - curvature - density with low primary fiber production, and most importantly, UNIFORMITY of all these traits.
Snowmass Elite Legend possesses these qualities and continues to produce them year after year in his offspring.
The other element that distinguishes a stud above others is perfect conformation--including the ideal head. Snowmass Elite Legend possesses every element we desire.
He was used almost exclusively over Snowmass white females because of his excellence and purity in clear bright white genetics. They rarely used him over colors as they have been trying to selectively breed for prediction of solid color. As time went on, they decided to breed Elit
At 13.8 microns Rainbow was one of the finest crias Little Creek Alpaca Farm produced in 2013. A Snowmass Elite Legend daughter and maternal sister to the sire TGF Subconscious Hero, Rainbow has a beautiful phenotype and exquisitely soft handling fleece with a moderate frequency crimp style, extreme brightness, and outstanding length. Rainbow is a white animal with a few brown spots, and offers the potential to add the elite fineness of her white pedigree to colored offspring. We love the look of this female too correct and square with good bone and a pretty head, she has a lovely presence that makes her a standout in the field. She has a gentle disposition and is easy to handle.
Rainbow delivered her first cria this summer, a lovely white male, strong and robust. She has proven herself to be Super Mom with tons of milk and a strong maternal instinct. She is bred to Snowmass Enchanted, the outstanding dark brown Little Creek herdsire, for a spring 2019 delivery.
Rainbow is co- owned with our friends at Faraway Farm Alpacas.
SOLD: Congratulations to Lynn Eden of Little Creek Alpacas for purchasing Rainbow back. We are happy she will be going back to a great breeding program.
