Andes Farm Zarina

Light Fawn, 30994515, 3/4 Chilean, 1/4 Peruvian

Sometimes you buy an alcaca for totally emotional reasons, and that's how we came to acquire Zarina. She has a very sweet nature, is super curious, and always in the middle of the action. She is also a producer of high quality. She is petite with heavy bone, perfect proportions and conformation. She has fine fiber, great density, crimp and very soft handle to her fleece, most of it sorting as grade 2/3 at 5-years-old. She is just a beauty.

Zarina comes from Danko, Pluro and Neruda lines so there is plenty of color behind her. Her first cria Lexie came in June 2010, a superfine light fawn female out of PCA Microsoft's Mustang. Last year we bred her to Andes Farm Jalisco, a BB/DRG male from the MacIntosh line and we are extremely pleased with their bay black cria Dimitri's fine, crimpy fiber. With our Mustang grandson Zephyr, Zarina had a dark fawn female Irena and you guessed it--she's got beautiful crimp and super shiny fiber.

  Andes Aconcagua Hector
    Light Fawn, 31959445, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

We love the light fawns and were delighted to come across this beautiful Jericho son. Hector has a unique presence and gorgeous fiber. He shares a dam with Don Reinaldo, a LSG color champ and Hector is of similar quality.

Hector has not yet started his breeding career, but we have some lovely ladies to match up to him. Looking forward to the possibilities! He will be moving to our farm this summer and expect him to have settled his first females by fall.

Thaikovsky, fondly nicknamed Pete, is a stellar young male with excellent genetics, including Jericho, Danko, Neruda and Crescent Moon's Del Sol. His coverage and color is beautiful, super dense and great structure. Alas, he is a bit knock-kneed so his career will be spent as a producer of luxurious fiber.

Price: $500
