Beautiful girl out of our Reserve Light Color Champion, Dona Josefina. Mary is a large, healthy girl who will do anything for pellets or some alfalfa.
Mary has now been bred 4 times, 3 on drive by beedings (her to him). And got pregnant all 4 times on the first breeding!!! Proving she is a very good/easy breeder and she has produced 3 very nice crias - 2 Females & 1 male, all with beautiful fleece; crimpy, crimpy. Mary delivers easily, has an abundance of milk - nursed 2 crias 2012/13 (one not her own) and has a pleasant personality.
NEWS FLASH!!! Mary's 2014 son, Salute to the Union (Boomer), took a 4th place out of 15 in the tough white juvie class at GWAS 2015!!! See his picture on the right. Judge stated he has perfect confirmation.
We are offering Mary bred to our full Peruvian (fawn) herdsire AVR Lunar Eclipse (son of Maple Brook Barnabus) - she is due in July 2016.
When I first saw this boy, it was love at first sight. His fleece was so soft, bright, and crimpy that I was determined to own him. At 4 years old, his micron count is 18.1 microns and he won Reserve Color Champion at A Ok Blast Off. He is a well balanced alpaca with the larger bone structure and smooth gait that we all look for in our herdsires.
He has a diversified pedigree with Accoyo Dracula, AFA Royal Peruvian Aristocrat, and Peruvian Tri-Star.
Ascendant's prior owners did not show animals that were not bred on thier farm. Since they purchased Ascendant as a juvenile out of the show ring, he has a limited show record. However, they were so impressed with his fiber at 4 years old, they entered him in a show and he came out with Reserve Color Champion!
Boomer (as we call him) was born on the 4th of July - hence the name "Salute to the Union" and the play on fireworks. On the 4th of July, at every US Military base, a 50 gun/cannon salute is performed.
Boomer has beautiful bright white, crimpy, soft fleece that is consistent across his blanket. His head is a perfect example of what an huacaya should look like, and his confirmation is perfect.
Boomer is easy to handle and was a joy to show. He always walked in the ring and commanded the judges attention. This boy is the total package!!! He recently took a 1st Place Ribbon at the 2017 Alpaca Breeders of the Rockies, Fall Festival.
Boomer hasn't started breeding yet, but is willing and ready to go. Most of our light females are related, so would love for him to go to someone who could use him. Boomer also is a large male who doesn't cause any problems in his pen, but does warn the others to steer clear if they make a move to try him.
Come take a look at Boomer and see for yourself why we are so proud of him.
