When we first considered breeding our foundation girl, Sangria to Jaegermeister, we saw him & knew that this would be a perfect match. Here is the result of that match, Hadassah. She has quite the pedigree on both sides - Lanark's Teddy and CPeruvian Jaxon on her dam's side with NGG Lional, Peruvian Bueno, Peruvian Courvoisier, and Peruvian Drambuie on her sire's side. W-O-W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before she was 6 months old, she was a blue ribbon girl, even with her cria tips. Hadassah definitely is what we feel the alpaca industry should be breeding for. She has such soft, fine fiber in that dark mocha-chocolate color. We have been told she is considered a high-in, quality female, requiring a finishing male to breed her to. Well, we did just that!
In 2011, Hadassah gave birth to her 1st cria - such a UNIQUE, meduim rose grey male, Steele's Steely Stan, who is out of our herdsire, Stainless Steele. Take a look at the pictures of her crias here & you will see what I'm speaking o
Medium Silver Grey, 30937550, Peruvian
When I had begun skirting Steele's fiber to be processed into yarn. I was amazed at how fine his fiber is, especially for a grey. In both of his 2011 male crias, he was definitely pushing his grey color with a soft fiber, & that zipper crimp had began to come in on both of them.
NOTE OF INTEREST: I JUST RECEIVED STEELE'S YARN, MADE OUT OF HIS FLEECE. OH, MY GOSH - I KNEW HIS FIBER WAS ULTRA SOFT FROM SKIRTING IT, OH MY GOSH!!!!! Check out the picture I posted on it. BEAUTIFUL GRAY!!!!!! AND, look at the HISTOGRAM CONCERNING HIS FIBER.
Stainless Steele is quite a handsome male, starting with his typey head all the way down to his toes. Definitely can see why Wade Gease commented that Steele has well-balanced conformation on a rock solid frame. And, take a look at that picture of his fleece! Great architecture with a crisp, tight crimp structure. His density is not compromised at all by the fineness. Also, he has exceptional uniformity and color consistency with that eye-ca
Dark Sabrynna, Steele's Princess (The Dark Princess)
Steele's Sabrynna is a beautiful, bay black Huacaya female with a packed pedigree of award-winning genetics with lovely fleece. Sabrynna will prove to be a great addition to your farm.
Sabrynna's sire is Stainless Steele, a ribboned son of multi-Champion Quasar who was sired by of the hall-of-famer, Shaquille. This lineage is further packed with outstanding grey genetics, which include Peruvian Silversmith and Peruvian Silvio. On his dams side, Opals sire was Royal Peruvian Sherman, another champion macho who was later classified as a rose-grey. Without a doubt, Steele is a unique herdsire ... having an 80% gray offspring when bred to non-gray dams!
Sabrynna's dam is Starlit's Hadassah[aka Queen Esther] who won ribbons before she was a year old, has an impressive heritage herself. She is out of the ribbon winning sire, Jaegermeister who has NGG Lional, Peruvian Bueno, Peruvian Courvoisier, and Peruvian Drambuie in his background. She also has quite the pedigree on her Dam side which includes Lanark's Teddy and CPeruvian Jaxon, an amazing bay black! Hadassah has produced multiple grey offspring when bred to grey!!
Having been shorn at the end of July, Sabrynna is exhibiting the fleece characteristics of long staple length with constitution of crimp and soft handle.
This little lady is a playful, free spirit who gets along well with her herdmates. She intrigued with anything new ... whether its tree leaves or dropped hay.
With an exceptional powerhouse of genetics and proven propensity passed on by her dam and sire, Sabrynna would be an amazing addition to your herd. You will thoroughly enjoy watching Steeles dark princess grow into quite the lady!
