Birchleaf Layla

White, 30888838, 1/8 Bolivian, 1/8 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian

Layla was a great genetic hit. Her fleece is high frequency crimp style and is very dense. She was the finest tested 2011 cria at 7 mths of age. We bred her to MMR Ascott (Producer of 5 Supremes ) in 2015 (check out the cria
). She is an elite combination of Canada's best blood lines: DLA Pastoro, PPeruvian Vengador, Solar De Peru, CPeruvian Rafael,CPeruvain Aldo on her sires side and Birchleaf Nomad, Snowmass Brave Heart, Peruvian Hemingway, MMR Noah, Dominion Sire on her Dams.

She is the result of the only breeding that we got from Luxor before going to Eagle Creek Alpacas.

Watch for her male cria in the 2017 shows

  MMR Ascott
    White, 30006910, Full Peruvian

MMR Ascott is one of those rare males that has the ability to retain his fineness and fleece characteristics as he ages. His fleece is very dense, with a high frequentcy crimp style. Check out these stats taken at 3 yrs of age. MFD 17.3, SD 3.2, COV 18.2, > 30mic 0.3 medulated fibres 0.8, Spin fineness 16.5, Mean Curve 55.6. We had been looking for Jolimont Peruvian Ivano bloodline for some time, as his genetics have a high inheritability to retain fineness, on a box style frame. When we found the Ivano genes combined with Alpamayo,a producer of high frequentcy crimp, with the ability to retain fineness with age, we were excited. We would like to thank Eslakes for giving us the opportunity to purchase such a flawless male. Ascott was shown only once before we purchased him and won Reserve Grand Champion at the 2006 IPE.
-March 27/10 at almost 5 years of age Ascott wins Grand Champion white male defeating previous Champions and being the oldest male at the show of 204 animals. How m

This outstanding young male is loaded with fine fleece. His bloodlines are quite unique, with genetics going back to DLA Peruvian Pastoro, Pperuvian Rafael,
Snowmass Braveheart and Hemmingway, on his Dam's side and the great Jolimont 2 Peruvian Ivano and the legendary Jolimont 2 Peruvian Alpamayo on his Sires. He is a sturdy boy, with solid conformation and large boned.
His Dam is a very heavy fleece cutter of over 10lbs/year for the last 3 years, with minimal primaries.
He will make someone a great sire, that needs to add a robust frame and long lasting staple lengths and weights.
His maternal sister Birchleaf Stand Alone, Won Supreme Champion Female at 10.5 months old at Western Canada Largest Show. A.L.P.A.C.A. Spring Show April 14-15, 2018. This Show follows the CNASF show, same facility different Judge :)
