Enchanted Hill Alpacas
When selecting breeding stock, we kept two points in mind: (1) Our alpacas must be calm and friendly.(2) The fiber must be interesting, suitable for spinning, & a delight to work with.

Enchanted Hill Little Dipper

Light Fawn, 1275421, 1/8 Chilean, 7/8 Peruvian

Enchanted Hill Little Dipper arrived May 12th, 2008, full of vitality. Her sire is Derwydd Peruvian Novio, a fantastic male produced by two Peruvian imports, the male being a son of Don Julio's Shere Kahn. Dipper's dam, Dominique's Celestia, purchased from Canada, has these well-known alpacas in her pedigree: Hot Shot, Lional, Bueno, Victor, Victor's Vaccoyo and Tumbleweed Brew.

Dipper has wonderful fiber (samples available) that has produced some fantastic yarn (Joanie has knit and woven with it).

Bred to our appaloosa, Bodacious, Dipper is due in late May. That cria has 1/2 chance of being an appaloosa and should be a show stopper no matter what color it is.

Update Spring 2012: Dipper has produced a male cria that shows potential as a herdsire, with great fiber from nose to toes.

Fall 2013: With ultrasound on November 1st, Dipper is confirmed bred to Vintage Peruvian Confetti. Wow! We can't wait to see that cria!

  Enchanted Hill Jelly Bean
    Pattern, 32316865, 3/8 Chilean, 5/8 Peruvian

For breeders of quality appaloosas or other fancies, Jelly Bean is the one to add to Herdsire Row. Look at the wooly face, short ears and muzzle, the balanced conformation, and the lustrous fiber that goes all the way to the toes.

Also take a look at the pedigree--El Moustachio, Peruvian Platinum, Chiquita, Hannaruh, Rockford, and Pperuvian Felix, not to mention Queen B Bodacious!

Then, check out those spots! Jelly Bean has appaloosa on both sides of the family so he could become that rare appaloosa herdsire that is homozygous for the appy gene, meaning that every last one of his crias will get a copy of that allele. How great would that be?!

Enchanted Hill CC Cookie Dough  (Appaloosa)

Listed at $19000 by Ed & Joanie Kinser of Bent Mountain, VA

Cookie is one of those unique appaloosas who isn't grey enough to call harlequin, but she has enough of that greyish caste that she stands out from other appies. Her fiber is dense and crimpy She was much darker on her first shearing than she was at birth so it is going to be interesting to see how she changes over the next couple of years.
A mating to Spotted Fox is planned for the spring of 2018.

Price: $19000
