Hidden Pastures Rain of Joy

True Black, 32189155, 1/4 Bolivian, 1/4 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

Rain of Joy was born while we were at the Sussex County Fairgrounds with our 4H Club. It was pouring rain, but that didn't dampen the spirits of the kids.

Joy's mother Joyce is the daughter of Captain Nemo. Her sire, Emerald Farms El Salvador Cloud is from the lines of Caligula, Camillo and Mr. Know it All. An interesting mix for Joy, who is a stunning true black. He is the son of Carmen Cloud and maternal brother to Orlando Cloud, but his sire is Caligula's Excalibur.

Joy has very dense fleece that is showing many promising traits. She has consistent crimp from root to tip and she has good fineness and coverage. Her color is very dark and very consistent. She has nice bone and a solid frame with a level topline. She has a true to type huacaya look. Check out her first Histogram: a MFD of 18.7, SD 3.7, CV 19.5%, and a 98.5% Comfort factor. Soft and fine indeed for black fleece.

Joy delivered her first cria on 6/3/16, a lovely blue-black female. She has been an exce

  FRE Andean Goldrush
    Dark Fawn, 32620481, Full Peruvian

Goldrush is a compact, sturdy male with excellent conformation, a fully fibered head, to die for fleece, and a great temperament to boot. He is the product of a lovely Peruvian Zephyrus daughter and Sunset Hills Andean Gold, winner of the fiber industry award for fleece! He looks just like Dad, and anyone who knows Andean Gold knows that he won one of his multiple championships and Judge's Choice at nine years of age! Goldrush takes the best of both these iconic lines and blends them into one phenomenal package. Fresh off an impressive performance at the Showtacular, Goldrush was praised for his consistency and density. He is outstanding, and we have started breeding him on what is sure to be an outstanding breeding career. We offer half interest.

Bay black male out of our Goldrush. His density, staple length, and brightness should nicely compliment Joy's fine black fleece. This handsome young fellow appears to have Dad's trademark head and excellent conformation. He weighed 14 lbs at birth, a nice weight for his petite maiden mother.

Black Gold is quickly maturing into a gorgeous male. His phenotype and conformation are spotless, sporting a compact, square frame, excellent coverage, and handsome head. He has an easygoing disposition and a spotless soft, bright fleece with plus length. Since we have both parents who are young and breeding, we're putting this young fellow up for sale. We think he'll make a fine addition to your Spring 2018 show string.
