CIA Evelyn

Dark Brown, 829471, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Other/Unknown

Evelyn is a standout for her distinctive maroon color, dark brown with red highlights and black points, and her lovely head. She is tall and elegant with good crimp on a long-stapled fiber. Her fleece is snapped up each spring by local hand-spinners. Evelyn is a wonderful mother who wears herself out for weeks following her cria everywhere she goes and who produces ample milk of high quality. Her 2003 cria boasts an IgG of 2900.
She is gentle with an easy-going personality, easy to handle and affectionate. We held her over to the Spring because her cria was born so late in the Fall. She sells with a breeding to Sumerhill Alpaca's Nitro, award-winning son of Maori Magic, black with an unbelievable micron count of 19.5, or to a Quarry Ridge herd sire of your choice.   MA Durango
    Medium Fawn, 807469, Full Peruvian

Magnificent son of the renowned Kenamori Gold and PPPeruvian Miss Gigi, one of Mariah Alpacas' best production females, Durango exhibits perfect, strong conformation, an exquisite and very masculine head, extremely dense and crimpy fiber right down to his toes, and the most extraordinary presence. Successful in the show ring himself, his crias are now proving themselves as well. One of his daughters, QR Tula was chosen as Best Bred and Owned at the Eastern Alpaca Jubilee in 2003. Durango can add fiber and bone to your female and he has proven to overcome the blue-eyed gene in whites and greys.

This outstanding female cria has it all. Born on a cold November morning, we dried her off, then used the blow dryer to warm her up. It soon became obvious that we could not straighten the crimp in her fiber even with the blow dryer. Kyra is extremely dense with incredible crimp. Add to this straight conformation and substantial bone and you have a show quality alpaca with great production capacity. AND, little Kyra has that inquisitive and friendly personality that is rare in the breed. She carries all the best qualities of her gentle dam and award-winning sire. We are anticipating a great future for Kyra.
