Black as Midnight

True Black, 806924, Full Chilean

Black as Midnight, sired by the famous Patagonia herdsire, Caballero Andante, is one of our foundation herd. She has created four wonderful crias; three are pictured here. She is a true black who produces black when bred to black or gray when bred to gray. She is a fantastic mother, protective and dutiful. Her fleece measured at 23 microns 18 months. She is a stunning animal with great presense and stature, the alpha female of our herd, and the keystone of our breeding program.
She has thrown two silver gray crias, Brittany & Chilton, who are both superlative animals and two true black females, Ella and Florence. All have extremely fine fleeces and exhibit perfect conformation.

  Dust Commander
Medium Silver Grey, A177571, Full Chilean

After more than a decade, Dusty is still a top producing stud. His crias are healthy, straight and consistently carry his signature ultrafine fleece.

Dusty's fiber is very "vicuna-like": it has a fine, high frequency crimp and is very, very soft. He had a low micron count when young, but more importantly, it was still only 22mc at four years of age. Very few studs of Dusty's prowess remain so fine.

Dusty is quite effective with the ladies. He began settling females at less than 2 years of age, and is still known about the farm as a "one hit wonder". When open alpaca females are given her choice among the studs, it is often Dusty that they choose. He is a true ladies' man.

Dusty has produced offspring in eight colors, most typically producing rose grey by fawns, and silver and black by greys. Dusty's babies are also more vigorous than most.

Brittany is a stunning lady with a proud demeanor. She loves to strike a commanding "look at me!" pose in the field. She has a heathery silver gray and white tuxedo fleece that is one of our top selling fleeces. Spin-Off judges always give top marks for the brightness of her fleece and for the fineness and handle of her fleece which they say is a pleasure to spin. Perfect bite and excellent conformation combine to make her a great foundation lady.
Brittany comes from a solid line of true black and gray has continued to reproduce only gray and black crias although bred to five different males of differing color backgrounds.
Brittany has had five crias. Her first as Eduardo, a gorgeous medium rose gray boy out of our late Accoyo herdsire, Calypsa. She has had three additional gray male crias, Sir Fabian, BSF Gilbert, and Lord Irving. Most recently, she has given us a lovely black girl, Jubilant Janis
Brittany was a great mom, an easy birther with lots of milk. She is now retired from breeding.
