Black as Midnight

True Black, 806924, Full Chilean

Midnight is one of our foundation herd. She has created four wonderful crias; three are pictured here. She is a true black who produces black when bred to black or gray when bred to gray. She is a fantastic mother, protective and dutiful. Like many dark alpacas, her fine fleece has coarsened with age from the 23 micron count she measured at 18 months, but she is still a stunning animal with great presense and stature, the alpha female of our herd. She has thrown two silver gray crias, Brittany & Chilton who are both superlative animals and most recently has given us a beautiful true black girl. All have extremely fine fleeces.

  Jericho de Chuchuta
    True Black, 802308, Full Chilean

Jericho is an exceptional true black huacaya co-owned by Melfi Farm Alpacas and Angel Wood Alpaca Farm. He has a textbook conformation with phenomenal presence. His fleece is dense with a brilliant luster. Jericho consistently passes on these characteristics to his offspring. Judges have often remarked about the fineness of fleece when placing his crias in the showring.

If you wish to add color to your herd, Jericho is your answer. Of his 20 registered crias he has produced 13 blacks – even out of light animals. He has 2 grays – one from a white female. All told, he has always produced a darker fleece than the dam, his lightest offspring being a dark fawn.

Jericho is a dream to handle and he can certainly make your dreams come true in color! He is presently residing at Melfi Farm Alpacas. You may contact them or Angel Wood Alpaca Farm for more information.
