Conan is a well-proven blue ribbon herdsire in fleece and halter. His fleece is true black (black black), very dense, with nice crimp. Conan's conformation and fleece characteristics are passed on to his cria, resulting in many award winners - particularly blue ribbons in both halter and fleece along with two Color Champions in halter and a Reserve Color Champion in fleece. He is easy to handle and has a mellow personality (gives kisses) which is also passed on to his cria. AWARDS: 1st Place - Alpaca Adventure 2001 (fleece); 2nd Place - EVAA Alpaca Exhibition 2001 (fleece); 1st Place - Alpacapalooza 2000 (fleece); 1st Place - EVAA Alpaca Exhibition 2000 (fleece); 1st Place - Alpaca Fest 1999 (halter); 1st Place - Alpaca Fest 1999 (fleece)
COLOR CHAMPION, RESERVE FLEECE COLOR CHAMPION, MULTIPLE BLUE RIBBONS! So very black, laid back, and as sweet as they come! Daphne has followed in the footsteps of her full sister, Cherokee Hills' Shelby (2003 Champion - Dark Females), as the 2005 Champion - Dark Females at Alpaca Affaire Northwest and with her multiple blue ribbons in halter and fleece. She's jet black just like the rest of her brothers and sisters. Another exceptional offspring of her multiple ribboned dam and multiple blue ribbon sire. Daphne has very bright, crimpy fleece, with heavy coverage on all legs right down to her toes. Her bite is perfect. An excellent top line, straight legs with good bone, a classic wedge-shaped face, and a very full top knot combine to make Daphne the complete package!
Daphne's 2007 cria, out of the full Peruvian black, Megabuck Mink, is an prime example of her quality and is on his way to being a fantastic herdsire. Dante's fleece is the color of midnight - shiny shiny shiny - excellent crimp and handle.
We took Daphne to AlpacaMania in October 2011 and she was awarded a Blue Ribbon. The judge (Kevin O'Leary) was amazed that she was 8 years old. Thoroughly went over her and introduced her as a "96 month old cria" because her fleece is that good and her conformation and presence excellent.
NOTE: Daphne was returned to us after three years due to payment default and was not bred during the time she was gone. She is in excellent health and will be bred in September.
